At one time we thought our flood drainage system was needed,leveled land for better drainage,dug new ditches and clean all the old one out.We now have a flood plan thats drying up the land b/c the water runs off so fast it hasn't time to soak in.
Now alot of area's are building suckpumps to pipe flood waters across land that needs more water,as my state is doing now.Thats fine and dandy for some of us up stream but what about the poeple drown stream.Alot things depend on flood waters off rivers,ponds,oxbow lakes and swamp land.With our new plans to catch flood waters off river this too will one day be out dated to where war for water will begain.
