How long can I run in bypass on a 3000 psi @ 4.0 gpm machine with an AR XMV4G30 pump, powered by a Honda GX 11 Hp motor with an idle down assembly? How much is benefitted from this idle down assembly?
How long is safe?

DId you get an owners manual with it?

typically 3 mins

Im lost to what you are saying " idle down assembly" but most p/wers can handel 3 mins
even though you may have cold h20 in there it still becomes hot when the pump is just pumping and no spraying is spraying.

I am not quite sure what "idle down" is but if you by pass your unloader you can run forever !!!!!!

With an "idle down control" your pump would run slower,
you would be pumping less water, therefore the bypass
water could run longer before heating up enough to damage

How much longer? Good question! Lots of variables there.

I suggest running a pump thermal with the idle down for a safety measure.

Hope this helps! ;)

...the manual doesn't say time wise.
There is a piston device attached to the throttle cable and pressure washer plumbing.
See the .pdf file here http://www.devilbissparts.com/PWRep/wgc-pw/wgcph3040.pdf on the Devilbiss site.

Here is a picture of the speedmatic throttle control valve.
It can be installed on most gas engine driven pressure washers.
