Default Getting web site set up please help

I would like to say hi and thanks to anyone that can help me out in advance.

I am interested in getting a site up and running and wanted to know which route most of you took here and the costs associated with it. I would also be interested in to know how you generate leads to your site.

I know you can go through Google and build one for free and Yahoo will help you set one for free if you let them host your site for $11.95 a month.

I am based out Michigan and have been washing and sealing decks for about 13 years so if there is anything I can help you with don't hesitate to ask.

Thanks,

Marty

it would probably be wise to get your own domain name regardless of what kind of hosting you chose

if you make your domain name michiganwashing.net for example when people search michigan washing they will get your site, this is called search engine optimization

I hope this helps a little

I need my steps done to the porch all three please.

Do not go through a free site that will just stick competitor adds on your site.

Go through someone like GoDaddy.com or others like that.

Do not tell your company name here until you buy a domain name for it.

Domain name purchase for a year is like $19.99 and hosting is $6.99 a month. You could build it yourself through Godaddy or others. Also you can buy the software to do it, but would recommend a preloaded template for ease of use (WITHOUT THE ADS) remember that.

My email is michiganexhaust@sbcglobal.net if you need help.

P.S why have you waited so long for a website? 13 years of cleaning and now? Just curious is all.

Thanks for your advice Dave. I think I have some extra Thompson water sealer to do your three steps.

I will keep you posted on the progress of my website.

The reason I have never had a site up is I tell myself every year this is the last time I am going to do it. But the money is too good to pass up.

Best of luck this year hope its as good as last year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Marty

You have been in business for awhile so I would recommend hiring a company to design one for you. Budget maybe $1000 for site design and another $300 for local area SEO (search engine optimization) You'll get your investment back tenfold the first year.
