Question using generator to power pressure washers

I have two pressure washers- a Farleys 110- volt 1000 PSI hot water pressure washer and an Alkota 230-volt 2000 PSI hot water pressure washer,I had been powering them
with a Porter Cable 5250 watt , peak 6200 watt generator.
When I last used it with my Alkota it ran very rough on start up but then smoothed out.
After turning the PW off I was not able to restart it, I felt the 4HP motor on the PW and it was almost too hot to touch. I suspect the motor is shot. I then hooked up the Farlelys PW
to the generator and it would run for a few seconds then the circuit breaker would pop and
would not continue to run.I hooked the Farleys to a 110 outlet in my garage and it ran
perfectly. I replaced the circuit breakers on the generator ,plugged in the Farley and the
circuit breaker would pop after a few seconds again.
I was wondereing if anyone has had a simular problem. I would appreciate any feedback
or suggestions.

I suspect you were overloading the genenerator.

See the chart #C at this site:
