My name is Ryan and I'm 15. My 18 year old cousin and I co-own a concrete cleaning company but are considering starting to go into a few other fields of pressure washing as well. We have a portable Karcher unit and a Whisper Wash surface cleaner. The UPCC stands for Under Pressure Concrete Cleaning. I'm in NE Ohio and UPCC has been around for a year now.

Hi, I'm Lou and I'm really just trying to find out if and how a pressure washer will help me out-- and all that goes along with that.

I stumbled into "flipping houses", mainly because I can paint and do basic landscaping so I looked for places that needed not much more than that.

I know in a lotta cases a power washer would speed up my prep time for painting (especially since I like to work alone) , and I have two decks I have to do (my own and my parents, and it will probably turn into my sister's and mother-in-law's as well) not counting the next property I try to fix up.

I'm learning a lot poking around here, mostly that my needs are like at the low-end of what most people here do. I still don't know what "brand" I want but it looks like I don't need more than a cold water 2500 psi (no higher than 4000) 3-4 gpm gas powered belt driven machine. I was looking at Coleman, Porter Cable, Jenny (well I plan to look at them), and Troy Built, but the brands I see mentioned here most I don't even see locally.

Anyway, sorry for the long post. I'll just go back to dredging through the archives.

Default Aj

In upstate NY since 1983. Bought out my brother-in-law who kicks himself every day goes by for giving up. The only thing that kept me was trucks washing for 3 yrs I did not much else. Then as if by some magic trick, I was out every day in summer, washing houses. I run Alkota 3000 @4 hot with a 300 gal tank. I'm trailer mounted with tank in my PU. I used to use a van, but a break down is lost $. so with a trailer you can at min get a U-haul and still work.

I suggest you go with a 3000 psi machine, cold water will do. psi is not the answer, it's flow. so go with at least 4gpm. anything more and you will need a tank to feed it. loose paint, dirt will give you a better paint surface god luck! And yes! belt drive!! or the newer poly chain drive.
