Hello,

My name is Derek with Cornerstone Commercial Services based out of Lynchburg, VA. Right now I'm specializing in Power Washing with intentions to move into some sister services as well (windows, staining, painting).

We started in 2007 and so far things are going well. I look forward to learning more through this forum!

Hey Tony,

Quick question. What has worked for you in gaining fleet vehicle contracts? Do you find a lot of competition?

Thanks,

Derek

My name is richard, my business name is EPAwash (Environmental protection associates) At first, my focus was on reclaim, and that part has gotten easy and automatic. Now I'm learning about marketing the business...it's harder than it appears, although it too is getting easier. It's funny, members in this forum and others are really friendly, but local competitors are a lot more surly.

I concentrate on compliance. I have a sand and water blast contractor's lic as well as a hazardous substance removal cert. I'm hoping these will distinguish me from lesser credentialed competitors when dealing with govt agencies...but so far they haven't made any diff.

I do fleets wash, storefront and concrete, and low pressure house wash. My focus right now is on developing monthly contract work. The other thing I'm working on is to learn about chems and their best use.

I have an alcoda 3500/8gal open trailer. It's a real beauty and works great. I use the sirrocco twister vac and a purple hydrotek filtration. I'm really proud of my rig, but have undoubtably invested too much, not really knowing what's up before I got going. I never even really saw a pressure wash rig before I ponied up. But now, twenty thousand dollars spent, I'm pretty committed to the trade.

I really enjoy the forum, except the shoot the bull part where all the washers are sooo happy to be out of the business. that's scary

cheers, richard freakypapa

Hello, everyone -

Just wanted to take some time and introduce ourselves.

Midwest Tidal Wave was started by Jeff Horton in 2005. He began the business after spending several years in the sports cards marketings business. MWTW has grown rapidly in the past 3 years. What began as just a pick-up truck and trailer, is now a full sized commericial and residential company.

MWTW has several commerical accounts within the state of Iowa. Casey's General Stores, Hy-Vee, Burke Corp., Kum and Go, On the Border and McDonalds. We also work with several property management groups, power washing condo's, multi-level apartment buildings, decks. MWTW is also involved with snow removel and property maintance.

We look foward to communicating with each of you and doing what we can to improve our industry.

Thanks for your time.

MWTW
