Question Airless Sprayer

undefinedundefinedI have a graco airless paint sprayer that I used to paint a lot of houses with. I thought you could use it to stain decks with but everyone keeps saying that you should use one of those pesticide pump sprayers. Has anyone ever used an electric airless paint sprayer to stain a deck and if so how well do they work for stain?

Yes I've used airless to spray decks. Some love it. Not my fav but have done it. Use the search function and you'll find most things you need.

I use a campbel hausefield airless sprayer. $300 It works great. I upgraded to a grayco sprayer$100 and added 50 ft more of hose. I can afford a better sprayer but this works so well, why change? They last about 4-5 years for me and they can be restored when the piston stops building pressure. Simply remove the head off the pump and add power steering fluid to the resivoir and tighten head back down. This is necessary every 3yrs or so. I have had GREAT luck with these machines .

We occasionally use a Titan440i airless. Depending on the body of the stain, it works beautifully or it can be a nightmare. You should familiarize yourself with what tip puts out what stain at what rate and you can be very successful using an airless. Might want to be certain you have electricity readily available before you leave any type of back-up at home though

wouldn't you know it my sprayer quit on me at a jobsite. I got this one 4 yrs ago. I removed the head and poured in some power steering fluid I keep on my truck and was back in business spraying. It is a simple diaphram pump and as long as the motor works the fix is easy. be prepared to get creative in finding an ele. source as you can blow out most ground faults when power washing I like to tape over the outlets if they seem to be too close to the wash zone. I carry 200 ft of cord just in case a neighbor has to be recruited for the ele. supply.

Ditto on the Titan 440i. Waited too long to get one - will never stain another deck without it. Use WTW exclusively and it works beautifully...
