Default deck on 2nd floor/ stripping

hello,
Wanted to ask you all if you have any tricks when stripping a deck on second floor and underneath is something you don`t want stripped - painted siding underneath the deck, painted posts or even another deck? A few times I saw decks with transparent stain, but underneath if you look up the boards were stained with solid stain to match the siding.
Will having somebody keep rinsing from from underneath help?
Thanks,
Val

I guess everybody is busy restoring decks, no time left for chatting on forums
