Default Chemicals

Hi all,

I would really like to hear input from all of you on your favorite chem's.

We are a small company with a small budget and want to put our $$$ to best use the first time so unless it's a secret I would really like to hear your favorites for....................

driveways
Sidewalks
Shake Roof
Comp roof
Vinyl Roof
houses
fleets (semi's)
Fleets (auto's)
decks & fences
grafitti
paking lots
brick buildings
dumpsters and pads
Anything else you care to mention

I understand most of these will not be enviro/plant friend but I'm not real concerned about that as I have a great ground man and I try to cover all I can when working alone.

Thanks guys and hope to hear from you soon.

Lynn

Hey Lyn,

Chems will vary depending on what your cleaning and what equipment you use. Give me a call and I'll see if I can help you out.

A rotation of a top notch degreaser and touch free car wash detergent. Alum. brightener for the heavy trucks and a high quality car wash soap. No wash and wax junk-- leaves too many water spots during the summer months.

While Henry is mostly correct, I might interject a little common-sense as well. Find a local pressure washer sales and service center (not Lowes!). Usually, they can help you determine what your area needs are for chemicals. If your just starting out ...K.I.S.S is the rule. I operate outside the confines of conventional business practices. You must learn from both perspectives and arrive at your own direction of operating a pressure washing business! I'll give you 3 secrets: Word of Mouth advertising, DO NOT affix permanent signage on your vehicles or trailers! Your name is the name of your business. If you want more...let me know.

Why would you not have signs on your truck or trailer?
That makes no sense to me. What better advertising, a
rolling billboard.

Funny, didn't see your name earlier in this thread...PERMANENT signage is what I said, meaning painted or stickers/decals. If you need any further explanation, I am here

I have to disagree with you on that one. Why would you not want to market your company on your company trucks? One time payments can give you a rolling billboard (or parked) It shows your professionalism and lets people know who you are when your working.

What I don't like to see is cheesy magnetic signs with company name and number. Don't get me wrong, I started out cheesy myself because at one time that's all I could spend but there's a huge difference in customer opinion on magnetic signs versus a vehicle wrap or something like that.

Here's one of my trucks... Does this look like an established professional? If you saw it going down the road wouldn't it draw your attention? Every day I drive to work or to a job I see people glancing over and checking out my truck. I also track calls to see where people find us. Truck wrapping like this isn't cheap but it pays for itself. I just had this truck done last week and it's already paid for itself with 1 commercial job.

Thanks for the input all. Not sure how we got from "Chemicals" to "Signage" but I can tell you that I recently had a wrap done on my 16' trailer and parked it at a visible location. Being a new company we were doing about 5-10 calls a month and I am now doing 40-60.

I have even had calls just to say how professional our trailer looks and wished they had called me earlier this summer but will keep us in mind for next year.
