Default Simple Cherry mix...

Hi all...
I've read on the forum that someof you use the Simple Cherry Mix for house cleaning, and this powder is mixed with water and 12.5% chlorine.

So here's my question, I just bought 10 gallons at a pool supply store of liquid shock, AKA 12.5% chlorine. But isnt this stuff like bleach and will eat right through stuff? It also states not to use on metal.... but on the Pressuretek website they state the formulae to use (containing12.5% chlorine)... and now Im wonder will it react with alum. siding and vinyl siding etc,....

Or is it becuase Im diluting it (2 gal 12.5% chlorine + 3 gallons H2O + 2 scoops of simple cherry) then... X-Jet it with a RED proportioner (1:10).... thus the 12.5% chlorine is utlimately diuted and sprayed on the house at a final dilution of <6%

please help
Mark

Hey Mark, first tad bit of education is you need to get your chemical lingo correct....its not chlorine, chlorine is a gas, the chemical name is sodium hypochlorite, and the number 12.5 is its weight by volume. Store bought bleach is between 5.5% and 6.00%. Yes it is corrosive and do not use it on aluminum siding, it is ok for most all other surfaces including vinyl. Most people will downstream this with a downstraem injector. I am sure Mark will be happy to hook you up with one or two, they are fairly inexpensive and it is always great to have a backup.

Google chemical distributors in your area for 12.5% SH. Use it with Simple Cherry, downstream it. You can mix the amount you need and will be very happy with the results.

As Russ stated, don't use it on aluminum...

Guys thanks for the response.
I'm looking forward to use my X-JET.

for alum. siding what do you guys use as a solution? Also using the simple cherry mix is ok on brick, I owuld assume so based on the chemical make up and the low % of bleach that will actually be applied on the brick. Just looking fo guidance from the long timers.
