I started with one business and as I added others I just added PLUS. The other thing is I was a Dale Earnhardt Fan and liked the "PLUS" logo on the hood.

FYI
Association Benefits
I forgot to mention this item. Since it was brought up with my name I will comment. Laws have recently changed to allow for Association Health Benefits. Previously this was out of the question, end of story. This is not the case now and each State can make their own changes. We are currently working through the State of Virginia, this is where the PWNA is headquartered. The problem is we have been turned down by about 3 or 4 carriers already, including Blue Cross and Blue Shield. It would seem that no one wants to be first to break ranks and underwrite this plan. Either way it is only a matter of time as we have now appraoched other companies and have enlisted the help of the Better Business Bureau to help in getting something done. I am personally working on this hard (for free) because I feel it is something that we can all benefit from. If anyone has any suggestions or comments to this please feel free to call me also. I can not make any guarantees, simply keep you updated.

I don't know whose idea it was.
In other words several of the pwna members didn't have a voice in what the pwna does. Then why should the pwna members look at us tho we're stupid too,you act as tho we don't know nothing.Several on this board can read though a post and know which ones are true and the ones are wishy washy.
"knuclehead",
For lack of a better term I will use "knucklehead" in this example. If I am home and watching TV and don't like the program I simply change the station. When there is a "knuclehead" post, you don't have to respond.
I'm glad alot of leaders don't feel the same as you,if the knuclebones in the front office would take time to train the knucleheads you wouldn't get screwed going though the drive tho.It takes time to train a knuclehead to be a good employee but a knuclehead will always be a knuclehead with a knuclebone teaching others to not help them, just turn them off.To me that statement says alot on how one treats others..

A good bb will help anyone with a problem. Much the same as any association. To imply that one is more useful than the other is simply wrong. Both venues are important. It is my opinion that one develops his trade at his workplace and he could develop wider strategies in seminar meeting.
If the internet were not a issue these association would be three - four times in size. The bb gives it's members a wide range of options and the Moderators maintain the order and the direction. The bb is made up of members of IKECA-PWNA and other who wish to be on their own. I can't think of one question that has not been responded to on this or other bb. along with the right answer. If I have a unloader question, that quest will be responded to on the bb-fast.

First I think Associations are a good thing if they are run by members, not suppliers. That would mean that the interests of the membership are at the for-front what the Association is all about. Things that an Association can do that BBS can’t is have things like lobbyists who promote the ideas of the members to have laws passed to benefit the over-all membership. Like: certifications, licensing, water run off laws, etc. As well as health insurance, liability cost discounts, i.e. group rates. As for general knowledge BBS can cover that for NADA.
I just haven’t joined because I see no real value in the dues.

Larry, don't quote me out of context.
I didn't know whose idea it was as I was not in office at the time that decision was made. Elections are held, and people are voted into office. Some leave office at times. I was not on the Board when the decision happened. Sorry, but it's an answer I don't have.

I will say this... the decision to do this happened before I was ever on the Board. I was elected in March. I don't know whose idea it was.
Is that better,it still means the samething to me.One should find out things before they start stomping on the stump.

Tell me Larry, how would I have known to ask about that particular thing? No one can ask about things they are unaware of. Out of all the questions a person might ask when they are asked if they want to run for office, I don't think the question about holding a joint convention with IWCA is one that would come to mind. More likely you'll ask how long the term in office is, what are the expected duties of the office, how much time does it take, when is the election, those types of items come to mind.

David Saulque,
I agree with you about the BB's. My only point is that that is not the difference maker in being successful in this industry. I stated it was a great avenue for communication, and it is, simplt put. It is a great place to throw ideas around, get help, and so forth. I certainly am not knocking the BB's.

In my post I specifically mention newbies who "hurt the business." I have offered my help to many folks and because I state that I would like to see "newbies" prepeare themselves first is opinion shared by others. If anyone wants to pick my post apart that is fine. I didn't refer to ANYONE as a knucklehead specifically. I used the term in quotations ("knuckleheads") to refer to a group that is detrimental to our industry. You could certainly put any word you like in there. My post is meant only in a positive light. I don't see how anyone could take it any other way. I will simply let my post be viewed on it own merit as I choose not to get into the "other" things. As others have stated if anyone would like to discuss any differences of opinion I would have no problem with anyone calling me.
