Cuprinol Oil Based

I have been using Cuprinol UV Sunblock here in Nova Scotia Canada. I have had several decks fail over the winter, only on the horizontal. (Not to mention a set of docks with Wolman Extreme but that is another problem.)
I called the Cuprinol people, they recommended the oil based semi transparent deck stain. I know some of you have been using it, how has it been holding up? They told me it will last 4-5 yrs on the horizontals.

I would like to hear from those of you who get snow from about dec to march.

I have yet to find a semi-transparent stain that lasts well beyond 2 years. Now maybe I'm just too picky, but at this point I do not believe there is a stain that truly lasts beyond 2 years, especially on horizontal surfaces, including Cuprinol. Heck, even CWF claims two years, and that's baloney.
