Brown Derby

Anyone familiar with a product called Brown Derby from a co. out of Georgia. It's a sodium hydroxide based (I think ) truck wash. I purchased some from a buddy of mine a while back and haven't used it since, ( I don't do any trucks ), ( I know you asking yourself "Then why did you purchase this ?" , that's another story for another time ) Are there any other uses for this product aside from truck cleaning ? Can it be used for cleaning vinyl, gutters, concrete, my false teeth, please tell me.

Hey Barry,

Brown Derby is a sodium hydroxide solution and is very similar to Panel Brite, TNT from ZEP, SC 675, Power X and some others. It can be used in many different applications and as far as removing black streaks from gutters it should do a good job. (I know power X does). Just watch it on soft metals or bad paint. You can also use it as a degreaser.

I just found this post but I will go ahead and answer it for Soap Warehouse. Yes our Brown Derby can be used for other things besides truck washing although Brown Derby's label directions will not show them. Since Sodium Hydroxide is used in many different types of cleaners designed to clean concrete, siding, exhaust hoods etc. you can also use various dilutions of Brown Derby for these tasks. Just understand Soap Warehouse can not give any specific recommendations or dilution ratios for these jobs for Brown Derby "Off Label" use. This will have to be at the contractors discretion and common sense application.
