Default PWNC Meeting with Media

The meeting in Raleigh was enormously productive. With both newspaper and TV coverage, the PWNC has now set the wheels in motion for more widespread recognition of our network and entire industry. One of the clips filmed yesterday can be seen here: News 14 | 24 Hour Local News | Triangle | Pressure washers fight drought woes. A second clip will be visible on the PWNC site later today along with a dozen new businesses.

Plans are being made for a subsequent movement that will be worthy of more coverage later this month. We are also working on a high profile project that we hope to be able to announce in the coming weeks.

Anyone wishing to participate with the PWNC or just for further information, please email us at info@pwnc.org. You can also call 336-516-2242, which is the dedicated number for this network.

Thank you all for your support.

Thank you Mark. We're keeping the momentum up and the press on their toes - just since the airing of the clips and the newspaper article, we've successfully "encouraged" another TV station as well as the newspaper (again) to take care in how they word their material. We're up to 3 newspapers and 2 TV stations that have moved away from using the terms "banned pressure washing" and are more accurately stating that "....municipal or drinking water is not allowed to be used for pressure washing".......it may seem like small steps but they are mighty in our fight for proper reporting!

Celeste

I heard some talk that another modification to the current stage 2 restrictions could be possible. This would be for Carwashes, Landscapers and Powerwashers to be able to use city water again . Has anyone else heard anything on this?

The noise died as quickly as it started. The last report was that no restrictions are going to be lifted.

On a positive note, that particular news report was modified because of a PWNC letter to the News & Observer. The original wording in the article was:

“Raleigh adopted its most severe water rules on Feb. 15. The so-called "Stage 2" rules ban pressure-washing and all remaining irrigation.”

The article now reads:

Raleigh adopted its most severe water rules on Feb. 15. The so-called "Stage 2" rules ban the use of Raleigh drinking water for pressure-washing and all remaining irrigation.

If you want to read the full story (which is the one that indicates that no changes are going to be made), you can see it here:
