<p> I have been cleaning windows for 10 years. Your technique is a noble prize solution to window cleaning. Get some basic supplies. 5 gal. bucket, a couple different size strip washers, squeegee's, some dawn dish soap, ammonia, and a couple different size telescopic poles at Home Depot. <p> Next wet window completely then start squeeging. Get a chamois (pronounced "Shammy"). Rinse a new chamois by hand. You will notice water in bucket turns yellow. This is just a chemical left over from treatment process. You may have to do this a couple times to rinse completely. Then ring out chamois until damp. When you wipe edges of window it will absorb excess cleaning solution water that is left over. It also wipes lint free. That is why many window cleaners use them-including me. Eventually they discolor from dirt and turn brownish. This is normal.
