Default Paying Employees

How do you guys pay your employees for drive time to and from jobs? Do you pay them their full wage, or another denomination? How about methods to motivate them to do quality work, but still in a timely manner?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

We don't do windows but we clean other stuff.

Employees:

Paid by the hour from the time we leave our shop until they return.

We provide junk food such as chips, pop, water, Gatorade, etc. We also buy their meal during the day/night shift.

All I expect from them is to be ready to work have a good attitude, pay attention to detail and be a team player.

We go through a lot of people!

I find it hard to find a full time employee, since my season is so short. I have trained 2 teachers and 2 state troopers who help me from time to time. I give then 25% of the days earnings. I find this fair since the more they get done, the more we both make.

By the law employees must be paid at least minimum wage for windshield time.

Usually we pay from the time they leave our office, until they return. But when I sub work I pay by the hour worked, much better that way.
