Arsenic / Urethane based sealers

Anyone had experience with water based urethane deck sealant? As a result of recent arsenic issue, I am looking into using. Was going to try RS with goal of using exclusively. I am relatively new to deck cleaning/sealing, but was wanting to pick one product and stick with it. Your thoughts on the urethane would be appreciated. B2

decks [all wood] needs to breath the decks have moisture trapped in them
the moisture has to get out some how
from what i know the sun will heat the deck causing the moisture to rise and wil boil
under the urethane and cause it to fail. Thats why the solid stains start to peel.
on top of that when it wears or fails what would you use to strip it?
also would'nt be very slippery?

Barbara Sivells at Empire Spraying Systems can answer this question better than anyone I know, give her a call . Her number is in the March issue of Cleaner Times.

Steven, actually Barbara and Mike turned me onto a urethane based product they distribute. Am trying to find some complementary information before proceeding. Thanks, Bill

i talked to Barbara couple times last year and they were using a product called Nuklear, and it is made here in Nashville from what i recall. From what i saw of it (which was minimal), it reminded me of Cabot's Water base finish, the one that looks like watered-down paint. They did say the durability was outstanding, however.

there are reports out there by the EPA that suggest using an oil base sealer as well, so if that is your preference you have data to back you up in your decision.
