It depends on the contents, but like Mark said it could be sent down a sanitary drain or at a RV dump station if it doesn't contain forbidden/hazardous materials, or like my neighbor said, who is a code enforcement officer for the city of Temecula, poured onto a lawn. Again, with out hazardous content of course.

There you go...

What I find funny is that the health department cites these restruants for this contained health violation, then a guy like this comes along and now takes it and exposes it to the world.

Laws are created because of people like this that can't police themselves.

If someone can't follow the rules, then they should be taken out of the game...

While speaking with the city public works director about a month ago. He had informed me they were working to enforce the laws. However, he did admit the city's budget isn't where it needs to be in order to get the compliance. I have on several occasions left a voicemail message for "Brian" at public works, giving him the "heads up" on violators. Again, if I must be complaint than everyelse needs to be as well. If they (the lowballers) don't want to "play" then they can take it down the road!!!

I know Brian... Or at least of Brian... He helps with the complaints that everyone here has with Good Year...

I was just talking with my neighbor and he said that the owner and the P/W could be fined $10,000/day (each) and if the city knows about it and does nothing, they can be fined $25,000/day.

The way I feel about it is like trying to run a redlight. There is just something inside you that makes you stop. All it is, is a red light bulb, yet it feels as if there is an invisible force holding me back.

I guess this is what is missing when this person can just let that water run down the street like that.

My neighbor said I should have called the Fire Department... Sound fimilar?

He He He....

What about all the gas and oil from vehicles.....all the masons that make a mess at a construction site.... all the concrete mixer drivers that make a mess at a const site.... all the pesticides that the Orkin man delivers.... condensation from all the air conditioners... all the homeowners washing their cars..... all the arsenic in the treated wood over the years..... charter boat captains cleaning their boats off at the dock.... how bout the fire depts that put out that fire and all the run off of that..... all the fire fighters washing the trucks daily..... all the ink that washes off of paper and put in our landfills...... etc....etc.....etc..... and here we are concerned about diluted wash products. The government does more damage in one day then all of us put together in a year. Why worry about us ? More money in their pocket. One way or another, more money in their pocket. Either by the equipment you buy to prevent this or the fines for not following the rules that they break.

Just my two cents.....

Oh and too cool any wild thoughts.... NO we have not been fined. We also use and waste time setting up socks and pumps and cords and time...... What does it get us ? More time and money paid out.....

See, I just think that's Bull$hi*. Do you turn in everyone you know or see doing anything wrong? Do you know anyone who pays their helpers under the table? Better turn them in! Basically, I think someone who does what you're doing is just an as$ho**. Just my opinion, however. One of these days this type of thing will come back to bite you in the a--. Let's hope that one day, Brian catches you doing something uncompliant and nails your sorry a** to the wall for it.

"...Do you know anyone who pays their helpers under the table?..."

Come on Oneness... Is the same equivalent to running chemicals, oils, bacteria ridden water down a parking lot where kids love to jump in as they make their way to the Creamery next door to the cheap asses that hired this idiot?

How would you like to hear your kids screaming over the wall and you look over and see them sitting on the curb rubbing their legs screaming at the top of their lungs because the caustic soda is burning their skin?

Tell you what; if this happened to any of the kids here, he would be bathing in his own mess.

Also, this water is heading to the street where it goes down a storm drain, which only crosses underneath a 4-lane street and then exits into a creek bed that a lot of kids play around with their bikes and build little bridges and you know... More than likely the same thing you did when you were a kid, I know it was the exact same thing I did as a kid.

Now, do I care if I offend anyone by posting these pics? Should I look the other way because he is a fellow P/Wer? Nope, I should have called the Fire Department and then kicked his butt for putting everyone at risk for transferring a communicable disease, risking injuring a kid with chems, and/or poisoning our creek, etc, etc.

Screw him, if he can't do it right, don't do it at all.

I invested a lot of money into throwing together a recovery system before I did a $150 Dumpster Pad and this looser comes along and just blows everything out into the parking lot and further? H*** with him, let him fry.

Do you think any one of them will care about you when you are out of business ? I am just wondering ? You mentioned in previous threads that pretty much your area is covered by others and then you go and tell us this picture is taken off your deck. Orange, I would think about getting into another business because apparently this one is not working for ya. Its nice that you care about the environment and I am glad to see you expended all this money in a recovery system, but you have too much competition in your general vicinity. Unfortunatly, they do not care as you do and they are getting all the work. So now what ? Continue to do the counties work for them ? Are they paying you ? I think not. Stop worrying about taking pictures and beat the street. This industry has not gotten to where it needs to be yet and frankly, it will probably be another 20 years before anyone will take it seriously.

Move on.......

Has really nothing to do with me even being in this line of work, it has to do with doing what is right.

Competition has nothing to do with why I post, it is to have conversation regarding our industry and how to make it better for us all through thought.

Like I said, if he were washing down the sidewalks it would be one thing, but when you start getting into areas that requires professional ethics, that's when people are going to start criticizing you.

If RobertMid and I were to hit up the health dept. and drill code enforcement, I bet we could change things for the better.

It all has to start somewhere, why not this little incident. It's common sense/courtesy not to run chems down the street, it is federal law, and it is the better-equipped competition that will have everything in their favor when the laws are enforced.

All it takes is the health inspector to write down on his pad that this violation is to be corrected and these are the procedures that are to be followed: all waste water must be reclaimed and deposed of properly.

Hmmm... Is it in my best interest that I keep my mouth shut so my <u>competition</u> can undercut me and prevent me from obtaining a legit bid? All is fare in love and war. It is a cutthroat business and as long as you do things correctly there is nothing anyone can do to have you fined and put out of business.

You can't think of any business that may prey on the weaknesses of their competition so they can prosper? (Wal-Mart?)

Wal-mart hurts their competition by providing a better value, not by following their competition around, taking pics, and reporting them to the authorities.

But hey, if you have time for all this crap, have fun. I hope one day one of the guys you put out of business or cost a lot of money because you stuck your nose in doesn't come along and bust that nose for 'ya. People do crazy things when it comes to money, or real or perceived injustice.

Believe me, Wal-Mart is ruthless. They will put people out of business in any all ways. And yes they do too go around taking pictures.

I know this first hand because I worked for Costco, their biggest competition that they can't seem to overthrow.

I have a whole assortment of activities that I use to document regarding them.

Just a few: Build their Sam's Club next to Costco locations, Their Distribution center was located across the street from Costco Distribution, put their radio frequencies to Costco’s, photo copied Costco's layout and look, and many, many more...

I guess if one feels they are the family originated business that they want you to believe, their snow job worked.

I use to take the applications from Wal-Mart employees that came to Costco looking for work. When I told them, "You know this is Costco, right?" Most would say they needed a better paying job.

Being the biggest retailer in the world, you would think they would be able to take care of their employees...

You can see how serious the reclaiming issue is in California by just reading this thread. I can see how someone who does what there supposed to do by reclaiming there may feel the urge to report someone who is not only in complete violation of the rules there but is also effecting the health of people around him in doing so.

This is a passionate issue in California that probably will one day work its way all accross the Country. Untill then you can see how people on the East coast see this differently by just reading some of the responses right here in this thread.

It looks like 2 different mindsets and for me I can see why. I can say that I'm glad where I live the rules arent as strict as it is in California.....YET....but sometimes when you think about it maybe what there trying to do there is eventually going to be the RIGHT thing because they are trying to cause less pollution thru there reclaiming laws.

These post to me are always an interesting read even though I am not regulated as hard as those WEST COASTERS......YET...

Very well said...

The way I looked at it was I wanted to regulate myself before I was regulated through a fine...

If it isn't in a town near you, it will be... It is just a matter of time...

If I see a competitor doing something wrong, I make a mental note to remember during future quotes against that competitor. I can use it to my advantage in my marketing plans. His mistakes are fair game for me to capitalize on.

However, I am not a squeeler.

There is one rule I always try to adhere to, and that is The Golden Rule. Treat others as I would like them to treat me.

It comes back tenfold.

Tony said it all!!

My gripe is not about who re-claims and who dont
I have a hard time with some "meathead "trying to play cop!
It just is not fair!!

"fish that Larry catch don't come up with three eyes and two tails!!"

Not only that the fish cann't grow, small fish and bull frogs without any back legs.

Will agree with OrangeCrest,wal-mart will cut your head off and make sure your within the law.You may buy a product today and next week they no longer stock it,they sale space for products.I sold to Wal-mart for years and years and they do take pictures of other stores, check prices in other stores, alot of little dirty tricks.

I don't get it,we have someone obeying the law like OrangeCrest and someone not obeying the law and you'll are all for breaking the law.I thought we were trying to better our trade but it looks like only a few are doing their part while others look the other way. While looking away you have NO right to cry about lowballs in your area,I had rather someone squeel on me as for someone to sneak around and use me for fair game.

Need to study the under ground fresh water supply, thats where the problem is,the above ground water has to much gunk for it to filther it all out as it makes its way back down.

Would you play cop if you seen a drunk run over someone and kill them or would you turn you back,,same thing.
