I landed a job I've been waiting for. The building is made of Drivit. I understand this stuff is pretty delicate. The bldg. is about 30 ft. tall should I get a scissor lift or will my x-jet be adequate. Chemical suggestions, pressure suggestions anything would be appreciated. I'm not a fan of acid in this situation too many variables. To those who want to tell me "why don't you use the search function, that's what it's ther for." I did, I just want to know if anyone has come across anything since those post etc.. I appreciate the help guys. Wade

These are my favorite types of lifts to use, they are articulating, meaning, you can move them all around.........and they have big wheels for the terrain.......most scissor lifts have really small wheels and are not very manueverable.

For cleaning suggestions, visit www.dryvit.com and make sure you use under 1000 psi.......I think they might have even reccommended 600psi. Some dryvit seems stronger then others...........one I did a few years ago, I could see it being chewed away by the pressure, even when I was using a low amount, and a 40° tip.......

One I did a few weeks ago seemed to tolerate more pressure......go figure.

The lift in the picture is a Genie Z45 electric. I usually rent gas or diesel models, but they were all rented out..........the electric moves a bit slower.

Call Prosoco and ask them for a list of distr in your area. Most masonry supply houses (brick sellers) carry.

Mike H. how do you justifying th cost of a lift in your estimates? The job you are showing in the pic looks like it could be done with an x jet. am I wrong?

I have cleaned lots of dryvit. If it is just surface dirt and mildew on the surface , bleach and a mild detergent will do the job. I don't know about using the d 600 on dryvit. It is an acid cleaner mostly used to remove mortar stains and tags from brickwork. I use 2 gallons bleach 1 quart jomax the rest water in 5 gallons of mix then downstream bottom to top. Most of the time the stains just disappear and then I follow with a light alkaline soap wash with 40 degree tip and low pressure. Always test in an inconspicuous spot first.
