Good Ole Hog Barns

I am going out Tuesday to bid on cleaning hog barns (on a regular or somewhat irregular basis yet to be determined). There are 24 barns, each 5000 square feet and all concrete. They have to be steam cleaned after each batch of hogs is moved out. I am curious as to what some other people may have been charging for similiar work. I understand the usual response is determine what I want to make per hour, but I am looking for some other feedback as well as things to look out for, etc...

Thanks in advance,
Paul

After seeing the news as it relates to hog farms along with the EPA problem with water run-off(creeks/rivers). I would ask about this situation. I do know the EPA is looking at this issue in review of the floods and so on. This seems like a lage operation-it would seems that they should do it themselves, or they don't want to get in the EPA Gun site-lookout.

Good luck

The last hog barn I did was 11000 SQ FT. It took about 11 hoursand I charged .055 per SQ FT.
If you have asthma, WEAR A RESPIRATOR. If you don't you will be in the hospital.

Most hog facilities also have to be disinfected after washing.

Good Luck
