landa water jet review

Just bought a water jet last week and have used it a couple times now. So far this machine does not live up to the hype at all. You have to walk so slow or you will see swirl marks, and every where you overlap streaks. I have been using a whirl away for the past 4 years and it worked much faster without the streaks. It goes back to landa tomorrow to see if there is something wrong with it. My pressure washer is 5.5gpm at 3000psi hot water. I have tried 15 to 20 degree adjustment and lowering and raising the bar. I read on here someone else was having a similar problem so i thought i would give a heads up.

Also the wand that it comes with is on such a short hose it is close to pointless. Just kept a wand on the handle of the whirl away and a shut off valve which was much more usable. Thinking I should of just got another whirl away for the money or steel eagle. Maybe after they work on it I will like it but as of right now buyer beware.

I have 3 Landa's. Love them all and they are very quick. I also have a steel eagle and a hydrotwister- Landa is my personal favorite, especially on new construction.

It sounds like something must be wrong with yours. Are your nozzles adjusted for your machine?

I do agree that the wand is useless. I replumb mine so the the wand is independant of the gun.

What size is the Waterjet? I am not familiar with it. With the pressure washer off and the surface cleaner disconnected from the hose take out the spray tips one by one and look inside each. Sometimes there gets a little rock or bit of trash and that will cause those symptoms. Many times I had to shut down and take out the tips and unclog a tip or two. If the Waterjet is over 24" then it is a little too big for your machine. I went through the same problem with my old Steel Eagle 30". It would clean but I was moving inch by inch. My Steel Eagle 24" is faster like night and day. Now my Whisper Wash Classic 19" is even faster and can out-maneuver the Steel Eagle as the Whisper Wash Classic is a hover type and i can go in and out and side to side without moving. Each has it's own benefits so I keep each on the trailer. Hope this helps.

Well took the water jet in, changed the jets out and am still getting swirls and streaks. The streaks are basically where the wheels roll. I talked to some guys that were at my preferred shop. They sell lots of brands and type and it seems that all the wheeled surface cleaners seem to leave overlap streaks, atleast untill the concrete dries. Luckily some other pressure washing company owners were there that owned steel eagle units and said they also see streaks until concrete dries. Of course my issue above all others is how slow i need to move for there to be no swirls. I believe my water jet is 20inch. So I guess i will play around with adjustments some more.

I tried the first hover type I have ever used and it was amazing. Since my trailer was on I was able to try different units. You can move the hover pretty easy and there were no streaks or swirls, and I was moving it much faster then my water jet. So I bought it while i was there. Really unhappy that I spent 1100 on the water jet and now 535 on a hover that works perfectly. Learned some shingle cleaning tips and gave some house wash tips so I guess my trip to the shop may pay for itself as a learning experience.

I want to thank everyone for trying to help me out. I have been pressure washing for 14 years but just found out about this forum. I will right a follow up down the road and tell you how the floater is doing and if I end up finding a cliff with water jets name on it.

I think those streaks are just where you have overlapped and it is "double clean". Its very irritating at first cause it seems like it won't go away. But when it dries its unnoticeable. I think the waterjet is standard 24". I run a 30in Bad Boy by Pressure Tek with a 4.8gpm and its not too bad. I also run it with a 8gpm machine and its pretty quick.

I just finished testing the two machines. Once again I am very happy with the hover machine and not happy with the water jet. Used the hover on the left and water jet on the right half. 10 minutes on each side, with each respective machine. As you can see the water jet is streaking like crazy and the hover is much more uniform. If this is how the water jet should work then I have no use for it. I can not stand around and wait for a driveway to dry to see if the streaks will go away or if they stay. I can tell you when it rains even if it dries good the streaks show when wet again. Let me know if yours looks like this. Thanks guys.

I guess your right it is 20". That is a pretty big diffference in the overlap, do you have the bar adjusted where it down real low? You do have the adjustable version?

Yeah I have tried it low, medium and high. Have also tried different sized tips from the 030 that came with it to 025 and 020. Only thing i have not tried is putting 25 degree tips in instead of 15. The hover I bought has 25 degree tips and as you can see it worked perfectly.
