I am thinking of having our trailers lined with linex....Has anybody out there had this done ? I have really checked this product out but need some knowledge of it before I spend the $2000 to have 3 trailers done. They claim to be able to put it throughout. Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.....

I just had the back of my new van LineX'd. Well worth the money, IMHO.

Something to consider: LineX is a franchise (trade?) and pricing can vary from one franchise to another. Also, LineX is promoting itself as a deck coating. I am in the process of working out a deal with my (now) favorite LineX dealer to clean decks prior to them spraying. Just a thought.

onecall, I just did two trucks last month. We did it ourselves. It took about 375.00 in materials. What we did would have cost 1000.00. There are several different companies that do this stuff now, shop around, look at their work. We used the Rattle liner brand. All are Polyurethane/Epoxy blend. It takes about one week to thoughly cure. It will dry in a few hours but it will chip until cured completely. There are a few tricks to application. How long can you stay down with out equipment? Let us know what you do.

Thanks for the help

Ok, My plan is to take 1 rig down at a time. Starting January 1....I can probably keep it down 2 weeks if need be. I have read about doing it yourself. I have the air compressor etc....But dont want to mess it up. Any help or tips would be appreciated if I end up doing it myself. I just want it done right if ya know what I mean. Hell, if I am going to unbolt everything and move em out...I want to make sure I dont have to go back three months down the road. So please fill me in.

Thanks MT

I paid $325 for my van. I had approx the same area sprayed as a small pick-up bed.

There is a company in Canada that sells a non-toxic version in either a smooth or rough finish. It can be sprayed or rolled/brushed on. I ordered a sample, and while I didn't use it in my van (time constraints) I will be using it for other things. It runs about $100 for enough to do an average pick up. Onecall, Here is the link to RattleGuard on Ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7932369768&category=33655

This is the exact kit I used for one truck.

Some tips.
Have to have a warm environment to work in. Have plenty of light.
Follow instruction.
When it says 45 minutes it means 45 minutes!
Have some Extra Reducer to cut mixture. We mixed first coat thinner to make it flow better. Stuff gets thick.
Have a high volume air compressure. 5 hp is recummended, that what we used. If you run out of air , product still keeps setting up.
Prep good, sand with 40 grit paper. Mask off where you dont want it to stick.
For on large kit we sprayed in 2 sessions as suggested. Each batch covered three times. The second batch was the buildup coating to give it texture.

Im going to do the fender and sides of our trailers next, we use open trailers.
Ill take some pictures of the truck beds and post them.
