Installing a EZ start valve

This is kinda of a basic question, I've recently purchased a EZ start valve and am now unsure of where to put it.

The machine is a BE 13hp unit running a general TS 1511 pump (i'll go double check tonight). Currently I see 4 "ports' on the pump, 2 of which are used.

I'm assuming that the top ports on the pump head are high pressure and the bottom one is low? Do I just screw in the valve to the top port on the other side of the pump??

If necessary, I can provide pictures of the current setup also.

Most pump heads has four ports,two intake ports and two output ports,the bottom ports are intake ports with no psi,draws water from a water tank.The top two ports are output which is where the pressure is released into the high pressure hose.I would think you would intsall the EZ start in one of the output ports.

The easy start valve allows relief of system pressure when starting a gasoline engine. The easy start valve is a low pressure bypass or relief valve, which directs water into bypass until a certain pressure is reached. Since water is directed to bypass in low pressure, the load on the pump, and consequently, the engine is less than the normal operating load and engine starting is eased. This valve can be especially useful in systems with larger gasoline engines, such as 8 hp or larger.
The valve consists of an inlet fitting, a valve ball and spring, a valve seat, and an outlet fitting equipped with a low pressure hose barb. The inlet fitting has a hole drilled through it with a substantially smaller diameter than the inlet line.

The EZ Start Valve installs on the high pressure side of pump.

Installed valve on the high pressure side of the pump... works great

One thing I did notice tho is that when the unloader is in bypass mode the pressure in the pump is very low.... low enough that the ez-start valve is venting water.

When running tho, it works great, even with the biggest soap tip I could find.

You can run a hose from EZ Start Valve outlet to pump inlet or back to water tank. [hello]
