I have been asked to give a bid on a few Walgreen Drug Stores. Anyone have any experience with them? Areas they want cleaned and looking for an estimate are: 1. Storefront with exterior windows & Sidewalks, 2. Pharmacy Drive Thru and windows, 3. Exterior of building including roof & exterior windows, 4. Front tower Cleaning, access through roof back door, clean cobwebs and interior tower windows, 5. Garbage enclosure cleaning. Anyone out there already cleaning these in your area? Thanks Hugh copgib@earthlink.net

I work for Walgreens and I know our guy currently charges $90 for just two sides of the store. He does the "sidewalk" next to the building and also does the overhang for cobwebbs and the like..... our managers are not happy with him and I am trying to take over but I need to get a reclaimation system first.

$90.00!?!?!?!?!?!?!!!!!! You would be lucky to get part of a sidewalk for that much. Surely you meant $900.00? Recovery, insurance, fuel, chems, labor, etc..... I agree with Hugh...you get what you pay for.

Yup its true....I do the invoices at work and its 90bucks a month to the power wash guy...he does a crap job and I dont think he reclaims the water. Hopefully once I get all my gear set I will be able to take over for a lot more $ because I will do a much better job and comply with waste water regulations.

I know a guy that does nearly 400 Walgreen type stores a month and only charges $45.00 per store. 10 feet to either side of the entrance, rinse and get the gum. No recovery as their is not enough water to ever get anywhere.
Nevermind all the expenses, he makes over $17,000 a month doing crap work and has had the accounts for years. 5 trucks, 3 sweepers and keeps growing.

Alan Walgreens now has broken there stores down into different jobs where you bid and if you get hired, you will clean those areas for as many stores that you can handle. Believe me when I bid, it won't be for anything that low! Hugh

MR ALAN all that guy does is ten feet each side of the entrance and get the gum, thats all he does for 45 dollars? thats easy money if that is really all he does

$45 for any amount of work isn't worth it! First you have to drive there burning gas and then you have to pull all the equipment out and then put everything away for $45.00. Now if you think thats good money, you must not have insurance like the rest of us. Hugh

I understand what you are saying, but when I have to pay $1,100 a year for insurance and maintain my equipment, $45 jobs just don't do it for me. Now if I am doing other work in that area, it might be ok. I usually don't leave the house unless I have a job that will pay $100 or more. Hugh

Hugh,

Just curious...Are you dealing with the Store Managers or the District Manager on this deal? And what are the different jobs that Walgreens has broken down for you?

Thanks
