Cleaning Roof Vents

We often clean stucco homes with a roof overhang that is flat and parallel to the ground. Running along the underside of the overhang is a white vent. When we clean around the vent, dirty wet water collects around the holes. I don't think it's a good idea to spray directly at the vent to clean it, but it ends up looking very bad and dirty. We've tried attaching various tools to the end of a pole but doesn't seem to work very well.

Anyone have any idea's or know of a solution?

Thanks,
Chris

In my experience the water around the air vents under the eaves may look a little dingy, but when the water dries up it pretty much goes away.
