Graffiti Removal Magic potions required

Hi all,
I have an opportunity to bid on the following walls for graffiti removal. I tried using a Xylene /Toluene mix that I scored from Akzo Nobel's paint factory but this did little. I will try some "Goof Off" later tonight, although the ingredient are pretty much the same as the Xylene Toluene mix. To blast it of I was going to use 8 GPM @ 210 degrees with a Turbo nozzle. I thought after this I would finsh up with a HF treatment at 5 %. Does anyone have any better sugestions or potions they would like to offer?? Would some one like to take a stab at the pricing as well??? I told the agent there may be some areas that need to be repainted.
Cheers
Jason

Not sure what products you can buy there but if that was where I live I would run from it, what are the gangs like down under when you mess with their stuff, consider that before bidding as I know there you're not allowed to own guns.

Can you buy Prosoco products? costly but they have one called Graffiti Wipe, have not tested it on graffiti but spray on, dwell and wash off. $55 a gallon in states.

Another product around the same price and I just was told about it by Alan but cannot find the link so I will have Alan post it here.

Not trying to scare you from the job but do consider gang retaliation before messing with their stuff.

WOW!!

Now that is some serious graffiti!!

There is to long of exposure for you to hit and get out of Dodge. Like Jon was mentioning, that appears to be gang graffiti, so I would seriously consider that before taking it on...

Otherwise... I would test some of that red brick in an area that wasn't obvious to see how weak it is. Be careful with acids because some will melt brick before you have time to grab your wand to rinse it off.

Goof off will work great on the white paint; the black paint may be a little more difficult... Lots of heat will be best also...

Stand back, especially with a turbo nozzle.

I use a 40-degree tip and baby it by taking your time and standing back.

Good Luck, and watch your surroundings, we just lost a few people removing graffiti...

Ha Ha Ha!

Hey Alan... You should know about it better than me... Didn't you hear about the woman that was cleaning up the grafitti during the (crime stopper or what ever they call it) night out?

I think it was towards L.A.

Another one happened about a month before that where a guy was going around his neighborhood cleaning up the grafitti where his was also shot and killed.

I tried a HF, sulphuric acid and butyl mix it worked well on one type of paint (about half) and didn't touch the other. I'll go back tommorrow and use straight Butyl on this before and if I place my bid.
I don't know of any gangs over here, I'm sure their around I just don't see them. This was right by a main railway station and the whole area is tagged.

You probably need to talk to Walt Graner. He specializes in graffiti removal. I have a couple of thoughts, I have always had good luck o painted metal surfaces with just hot water and patience. Of course, the quicker that I get to it, the better. The brick is porous and a little more difficult, and you will need to be sure to hit it from every angle to get it all, from the bottom, from both sides, and from the top. If there is a shadow on the brick, there is a good possibility that it will be absorbed into the brick over the space of a few day, but it has to be a very light shadow.
As for price, I would only do it on a time and materials basis. You can tell them that you will not exceed X amount of dollars without prior approval, and go from there.
I know Walt is subscribed to this board, but everything is locked down, I think so that you cannot get his address. You might search past posts for his name, and it might have an e-mail address or somethign to contact him with.

I will try to post some pictures of graffiti that we removed last month. Not near as much as you have!

Most of these required applying a caustic prior to spraying hot water. Some we followed up with soda and finally one needed a citric based product. We never use xylene or toluene for graffiti removal.
