Just wanted to get some feed back from anyone is the Houston Texas area. I will be there March 15 thru. March 19th for International Log Home show. What kind of weather can I expect? This show will be at the George R. Brown convention Center. Is there any good lodging close to it? Any good resturants? Thanks for any information you want to share.

Jim,

The George R Brown convention center is located downtown. Downtown is now going thru a massive renovation stage now that the new Astro's Field (Enron Stadium) has been built beside the George R Brown. They booted out the wino's and cleaned up the joint. Now its safe to walk the streets again. And within 2 years all the major restaurants, boardwalks, etc will be downtown again.

As for restaurants, yes, there are many in the area (within Loop 610) If your flying into Bush Intercontinental airport, you will have all new hotels to stay at, within 30 minutes drive time to the convention center. You do not want to stay anywhere around the convention center. The hotel and construction renovation is horrible right now. Staying by Bush airport or Hobby airport, whichever you are flying into is the best bet, both are a short drive to the convention center.

As for the weather. Well, as we say in Texas, "if you don't like the weather, stick around, it will soon change."

Chances are you will see 70 to 80 degree highs and rain. Upper 50's at night and more rain.

Always pushing 75 to 100% humidity.

Any more questions, just let me know, or look me up when you get to town.

Craig
