Interior white Italian brick

A customer called and asked if I could clean her white Italian brick chimney, and I'm thinking to myself, sure, no problem. Then she states that it's inside. GULP.

Okay all you vets out there. Let's have it. What can I do to be a hero to my customer and not have to rent a wet/dry shop-vac in the process.

Thanx in advance for all your help.

Personally, I would turn it down, and perhaps ask some chimney guys.......

If you do decide to pursue this further, be sure to check with your insurance agent to see if you are covered to do work indoors.

Mark, I may be able to guide you on this. Need to know a couple of things:
1. Is this new construction, or an existing home?
2. What are trying to clean off of the brick - mortar or dirt or something else?
3. Is floor carpeted?
4. What is height of FP?
I clean a lot of FPs as part of doing the exterior. I hate 'em.

i assume the fireplace is 20 or 30 foot tall,i would build a catch basin at the base of the chimney with a pump of some sort to pump water outside, apply chemicals with a tampico brush and 5 gallon bucket, use a garden hose with a water fed brush attachment to rinse it down.
