Looking for advice

I may have posted this in the wrong spot, so here it is again in its own thread.

I'm a single parent with three kids and looking for a way to get away from the "Con". Every year benifits costs go up, benefits go down, rules get tighter, and I hate my job more and more (regardless of the money I make). This seems to be a lucritive business that I can still dedicate a lot of time to my kids while starting out on the side.

I have been looking for a used unit and have located a MI-T-M 3405 hot water model at a local rental store. The unit is a couple of years old, but has not been rented a lot. There is verry little rust and the paint on the muffler and heat shield has very little signs of use. The unit recently had a winter service and the pump (cat) was rebuilt as well as the entire unit gone through (they have the reciept for the work).

My question is regarding the GPM rating for the unit. It's 3.3 GPM, belt driven fan, 3k PSI. I can pick this up for just under $2k, which as far as I have been able to find is a really good price for a unit in this condition. Some of the used units I found were real dogs. Will this unit be sufficient? Seems like most of the posts are saying 4GPM min.

My other concern is the fact that this unit does not have a temperature control like the Landa's do, should that be a factor?

While I was in the store, another indivual came in and was interested in the equipment, so I don't want to miss a deal (I hate it when that happens), but I don't wan't to jump in with the wrong equipment either.

Thanks for any help or suggestions.

2k for a used machine seems a little high. Do you really need hot water? Water cannon can send you a cold water unit to your door cheaper than that and it will be brand new.

If you are looking for an inexpensive cold water unit,
or even a bargain on a hot HP washer give me a call.

$2-K for a used Hot HP Washer does not sound out of
line to me.

No, not for a hot water machine. But if you don't need hot water go with a brand new cold water with a warranty. I would just be a little scared about buying something that was a rental.

just figured out

that I should search by my user name to remember what I've posted where.....Been reading everything I could find on a few boards, and forgetting about my own posts.

Anyway, the machine works great!!! Fires up runs smooth, I'm happy with it and ready to start making some of the money back. I went with hot water so that I could cover as many bases as possible.

As they took away our paid sick days at work, they talked about us using our vacation and personal day "buckets" to cover the 7 paid sick days that we only thougth we were losing. To me the Hotwater was just another bucket for me draw from. And it works faster from what I've read
