Pressure Washing black asphalt

Ok I got a call from a gas station owner wanting an estimate, and he wanted me to pressure wash his building and gas pumps and if I understood him correctly (language differences) he wanted me to PW the ashpalt also. I passed this oppurtunity up because I didn't know how to properly estimate that kinda job. So far all I have done is residential houses. Any help out there for this newbie?

Depends on the size of the lot. Small lots by the Sq Ft. If theres alot of dirt built up in the asphalt bid by the hour or bid by the square foot and SWEEP it first! Pushing mud for hours is the outcome if you don't (I learned the hard way). Make sure the owner understands oil and diesel stains can only be cleaned and not removed. There are some products out there that claim they can remove it completely but I have yet to try them. Watch what you use! Some cleaners will actually break down asphalt! Diesel pump areas WILL break down and nothing can be done about it except new asphalt!
