Are you talking about high pressure hoses? If so, the equipment to make the repair is probably more expensive than you would want to spend.
I've also found that hose repairs generally don't last long. Once the rubber coating has been compromised, and water gets inside, the wire braiding starts to rust. Then it's all over. For that reason, I usually only buy 50 foot lengths, and connect them together as needed. It's cheaper to throw away a 50 footer than a 100+ footer when they blow out.
Also, the best time to stock up on spare hoses is during winter time, when many vendors are looking to clear out inventory before the end of the year.
