I've been wondering about something. I do not have a water tank so I use the customer's water. If someone came to my house to do PW work they would have to bring their own water. I've tested the flow on my outdoor faucet in the back and it's about 2.5 GPM (Measured with a 5 gal. bucket)...

He, He, He! Yea I thought about that, AFTER the fact! Is there a safer way of testing the nozzle? I've also seen references on adjusting the airband while watching the flame. How is this done? How can you see the flame if the coil is still on? I'll try to be more careful in the future.

Thanks, Larry. I saw it shoot fuel everywhere when I took off the coil and exposed the burner. I started the engine and turned on the burner via the front switch. The electrodes arc'd and the nozzle spat fuel. I would have to say that what came out was definately not a fine mist. Small drops...

I have this problem exactly. The guy I bought it from just had the oil changed and the service guy may have put in detergent oil. Is there a way to tell the difference between water in the oil and detergent oil being used? Obviously, I will be changing the oil, but do I need to do anything...

Thanks Mark, I took the coil off this weekend. There was a lot of rust and the insulation at the bottom around the burner was soaked with water and diesel. There was no insulation between the coil stack and the outer sleeve. The coils were pretty dirty as well. I plan to put new insulation...
