I would like everyone's opinion on what they have tried and works best for a house cleaning detergent. I have used only a couple of products from one company. Your help would greatly be appreciated!

Thanks

Mark ,Good question I hope everyone chips in.I have bought for the past 2 years a powder 55 gallon drum kit that cost around 50.00 But i wonder if I should make my on I copied this from alcoa Web site

Mildew accumulation-Mildew can collect on surfaces of all types of building products and is often evident on surfaces that have not been properly cared for and maintained. Normally, mildew will appear as black spots. Mildew is east to remove b using the basic cleaning solution above with addition of sodium hypochlorite as follows:

1/3 cup detergent (TideTM, for example)
2/3 cup trisodium phosphate (SoilaxTM, for example)
1 quart sodium hypochlorite 5% solution (CloroxTM, for example)
3 quarts water

These type of solutions make me also wonder if I should make my own instead of buying "HOUSE WASH" hopes this helps a little

For cleaning of mildew I usually make my own mixture of bleach, TSP-PF, and a car wash soap(this helps it cling to the surface). Most of the time this does the trick for me.

Ive been using the TSP, Bleach and Tide mix as well as my truck wash powder mixed with bleach. The ratio of the TSP Bleach and Tide is the same as noted by Shane works well down here in the humid south

Yeppers, the south has its own problems with mildew etc. We use this and are very pleased with the results. Mixing it ourselves is cost effective:
For a 5 gallon bucket-
1) 3 gallons bleach 5.59% or 1 1/2 gallons of the 12%
2) 2 quarts of detergent..most any will do as long as it has degreasers and is thick..We like the liquid better.
3) the rest water. We run it at a draw of 25%
We leave it on the house about 7-10 min...as we soap the next side of the house...depending on the heat (weather)
We also apply the soap with heat..rinse with heat...wax then rinse again......
Hope this helps!

Sound like a NASTY solution, would work but would have some serious drawbacks.
