this is a great idea and i appreciate all your hard work. one question: are $5 increments required or selected by the seller? it seems disproportionate for lower-value items and may tend to freeze out folks who would otherwise become actively involved in the bidding process. perhaps increments of $1 might be appropriate until the bidding reaches, say, $25.
Give me an idea of what the ratio should be. I think I can change it by price. Meaning 1 to 24.99 24.99 to 49.99 and so on. Listing the increments for each.
Justin,
Good points that you brought up about ebay's auction compared to this auction.
This auction site never really took off but I guess it could still be used here for anyone that wants to sell a powerwashing item to one of us in this bb family. Aside from that I don't pretend to know how they can make this Auction site really take off.
Like you said 4 yrs ago it probably would have done well but back then life was so different, the stock market was nuts and most of us didn't have a worry in the world. Then came 9/11...............
Justin,it reads as tho you may have ideals on how to make Dan's auction better,I'm sure with your input he'd listen.I'm not a seller nor buyer at auctions,if I don't need it I'd rather give it away
Maybe it would work better if the forum was a Sale,Buy,Trade plus auction. Some items for sale may be to little to put on the auction block, like 10 dallors,20,50,or trade, the bigger items still could be put on the chopping block. It may work better if you start a thread on small items for sale, buy or trade, just a thought.
