Beth I've gotten where I don't mess with the controls,I too can only see the yes and who cares.I understand but to me its not important who voted one way or the other, now if you were my competition it would be a different story as to whether you bought small or large eggs.

Interesting poll, I voted Yes of course and I'm suprised that there haven't been more votes as active as this board is.

Any organization that your active in will help your business no matter what the organization is. If you show up and meet people that are also members it gets your name out there. I've gained quite a bit from my membership and affiliation with
PWNA
PWN
PWI
TCN
Grime
BBB
WCR

And about 10 others..

You only get what you put into them though and you have to be willing to take the good with the bad. On many of the BBS's you can find a lot of information and people willing to help you out.

The Power wash Network is something we all registered to or joined...
So in a way just by joining it to read this poll it states that were all gaining something. It might not be an organization but it has great benefits for those that put something into it.

So saying that, it looks like we all benefit from anything we join or are active in.

I have been in business for over 14 years and the first eight years I learned everything the hard way with soaps, equipment, pumps, trailer set ups, stains, advertising, just everything you can think of. It was hard and a ton of pain because I had no one to go to that fully understood what I needed or what I was doing. My wife and I could not rub two nickles toghther, everything we made went back out some way. Finally after the fifth or sixth year we were making $100,000 plus but could not get our income to grow much past that. Yes, now we were showing some cash in our pocket but not much to make life comfortable.
I started to here things about this PWNA org. but why spend the money on dues to learn what I already knew from my own experience! I joined the Pwna in 2000 and I have increased my knowledge 40 fold.

Its not about what the Pwna can do for me, Its what can I get out of them. I have met people that got me out of the $100,000 rut and made a ton of business contacts across this great Country. I only have six full time employees and one part timer (for my yard work) and we are touching close to $600,000 in sales in olny nine months not even working a full year. I take winters off and use to vacation, but now I travel on business to educate myself with the people that the Pwna has interduced me to.
Its all about what the Pwna can teach and interduce you to. Just be open minded and you will get something out of a convention.

By the way I'm the contractor that John T. talked about that Trex paid $60,000 for my services in 2005, but we did about 50 decks for them in Five States that took about SIX weeks.

You will learn from them (pwna) I'm living proof and I was anti-Pwna when I first started.I hope I did not affend anyone but I was on both sides at one time or another in my life, and they helped me make a ton of money with the right business contacts. My goal is to be at $1million in sales by 2010.
I'm now a Board of Director for the Pwna because I want to give back what they help my company achive.

Thank you
Tony

We are so very proud of you Tony......... You go man, make the millions you need!

One story of success b/c of membership.

I bet we all have had success like you mentioned .................and Whoooooaaaa! we are not members!! :)

Dan, you asked a question. Can an Org help your business? It sounds like it can if your willing to put some energy into it, and there have been quite a few posts to support it. 70% of the votes agree that Org's can help your business. What I don't understand is why you ask the question when you consistantly ridicule them or make sarcastic comments. I don't get it, do you really want to know, or do you just want to use this thread to negate anything anyone says?

This started out as a great poll but I've noticed that the traffic and posting on this thread has slowed down and lately the focus has been as Dan sees it.

I'm not trying to bash you or start a war of the words but ease up a bit will ya? It's hard for people to post their opinions and thoughts if you constantly comment on them.

That's OK Henry I understand this Anti-Pwna board. There are a ton of people on the world wide net (not you Dan) that claim they are something that they are really not. It makes me sick to see people post like they have years of experience in this profession and they post like they are the godest of every pressure washing experience there is to be, again not you Dan because I do not know you.
I'm true at what I post and need no pat on my back "Its just the truth" I'm sorry if I hurt someone's ego.

Don't forget I was anti- Pwna at one time. That was my real point!
You maybe sucessful if you don't belong to an org. and I know many compinies are. I just know that the Pwna has helped my business become successful like I stated above in the post.

Dan,
If you get the Cleaner Times Magazine they are doing Spot Light awards of pressure washing people who had success and or positive stories about the industry.
My compition close to me that somewhat is by my market and does double what we do in sales, and they do not belone to the Pwna, I understand where you are coming from Dan.

Some of them are also posted here on the PWNA website. http://www.pwna.org/PWNA/Testimonials.html

One problem I see is that the links on the PWNA site for joining don't work...I have been debating joining for a few weeks, and had pretty much made my mind up the other day, but couldn't get the links to work...was too late to call anyone, and I prefer to do that kind of stuff online anyway. Again tonight, and the links still don't work.

If you want new members, this is the kind of crap you need to fix, NOW.

You can always call the PWNA Headquarters To sign up. As far as the link not working Henry is doing a great job in updating alot of the internet aspects of the PWNA and also running his own business on top of all that he does for us. These links will be working very soon and be much better then they were in the past.

Hey Mike,

The link has been fixed, Just make sure you clear your browser before you visit the website, we must have missed it when we updated the Head Quarters information. You can also send an email to JoinPWNA@pwna.org also and you will get an auto reply back with a member application and contact information for the office.

Cleaner Times is the best printed material that is formated just for us pressure washing guys (and gals). They have been doing Pwna Spotlight Awards this year in each issue. They have Pwna members tell their story why and how the Pwna has helped them.
I thought this might relate to the orgional post?
Don't take me wrong Dan I know where you stand, just adding information to the post.

Marketing the logo has helped... It is hard to place a $$$$ value on the membership... but using the logo and org mission statement dresses up my quotes and website
