Welcome Washerboy,
Here in the Southern States it's my understanding that the car lots are paying about half that much, about $2.00 a car. One man sprays and 4 or 5 guys wipe. They can knock out quiet a few cars in a short length of time which makes for a pretty fair price. My on personal opinion, I wouldn't do it for less than $4.00 a car. If your doing a basic spray and wipe, I think that's a pretty fair price. If you plan on spending considerably more time on each car, say 50% exterior detail, you should raise the price a dollar or two. One person can get tied up pretty long on each car if their not careful, so remember, spray wipe and move on.
As for the detergent, (just my opinion) the less detergent and chemicals you can apply the better. I know in the South, most of the car and truck hounds
would shoot ya if you put liquid wax or soaps on their ride. Even the hich profile RV Lovers are very careful and normally use only a mild cleanser.
Hope this helps.
Just my opinion
Richard R.
