Hi all,
We has a job this season that was a combination trex on the horizonals and lattice and rails of wood on the verticals. Our crew (sigh grumble grimace) got overspray of Cuprinol on the trex....

What solutions are safest to rmove the overspray from the trex??? Can sodium hydroxide based strippers be used safely or is something else better? What effect will power washing have on the trex??

Was that a water base.....or oil base??

I am bidding on a job like this right now.......Trex floor, cedar rails to be cleaned and sealed..........I am worried about accidents like this.

I really dont know what to suggest...........it would be great if you could get your hands on some Trex scraps.......maybe from a local deck builder........that way you could try different cleaners and see the effects........

Try contacting the company.....www.trex.com.

Worst case scenario, you could replace the "boards" that are affected..........they should match up pretty well........not like wood.

We tested sodium hydroxide based cleaners on trex, and it was fine-no negative effects. It also holds up to the normal PSI you clean decks with.
