Make sure you don't let those coils freeze. They will do just like any other water pipe above ground in the winter. If you let them freeze they will bust and you will have to replace them. There are steps you can
take to stop this from happening.

#1 If you have the type of washer without a float tank you can let the water run thru it all night.

#2 Blow all of the water out of the coils with air and drain all of the water out of the pump as well.

#3 Run some antifreeze into your machine every night.

#4 Use an electric blanket over the machine to keep it warm.

#5 Store it inside of a garage where frost and ice can not get on it.

#6 hang a light bulb above the machine the heat will stop it from freezing.

Treat your machine as if it were one of your pets and you will save yourself alot of money. A new coil could cost you as much as $1000.

Coils will freeze wheather you think they will or not. Cold weather is your coils worst nightmare. If you don't know what coils are here is a Quick explaination. The part of a hot water machine that the water flows thru to get heated. The coils refer to the pipe inside of your burner. The pipe is coiled inside of the burner section. The water flows thru the pipe and the fire inside of the burner heats up the pipe. The pipe heats the water.

Hey Wiz,
Happy T-day, I'm curious would Windshield washer fluid work it's cheaper than anti-freeze, but will it effect the seals in my pump?

Just a thought.
