Do any of you do this if a newbee is running wild with knives,do you ever get to the point that you eliminate him? I do and use the other competitors as to shovel the business to them.,just wondering

Not talking about eliminating to get bigger but to control some of the newbee's out of controls ways.

If you want you can talk about eliminating any old or new competition tho............bad subject huh.

BIGBOY you going to take him out hunting with a antler hat or just bury him with work at his own price?
Just wondering what got you so worked up about this guy? Is he a one man show?
What is out of control? Price or work?

I should have used the word "them" "they" and not him.

Ever few years They, him, them will have to be dealt with in 'your' area as to eliminate,to many running around as in not enough work to go around in "a" area.Either you learn how to eliminate or be the one being eliminated.

I knew and Know they are to many newbee's and part'timers on the boards as to talk about a sudject like eliminating your competitor.

I was just wondering if some of you (tried) controled the area you work in as in working with other local competitors to eliminate some one thats not working with the crowd. Also I'm not talking about turning some one in to the law or nothing like that and by not doing the lowball thingy.[fox]

Just wondering is all.

Bigboy do I read your post correctly to mean a large franchise company moves in and tries to run the established PWers out of business so you turn the tables on THEM?

Or are you referring to true NEWBIES?

I doubt anything would work here in So. CA. to many as it is and yes the true newbies might find a market but the fly by nights/low ballers will fall by the wayside.

Not long ago you was talking about how you would always help a new guy, sounds like someone is stepping on your toes.

No,not stepping on me toe's.

and yes, will always help a newbee.

Yes,I talking about newbee's as to eliminate.

The one's I'm talking about are the ones that stand and ly to ya face even tho you help them, they, him.Thats when I draw a line and start trying to eliminate them, they, him.I do not want to work with NO powerwasher that is not trust'worthly,if they'll ly to me them also ly to customers. When you give, help and they still ack as tho they are goody goody and wouldn't ly to you when they have already told a few ly's while talking to you are the ones I'm talking about.

Don't get me wrong,I'll help anybody as long as they do not tell me ly's,cann't stand a back kniver or a ly'er.Eliminating this type out of our trade is worth while to me,even tho I'm giving the business to my competitors I do not think this type needs to be in our trade.

and yes, eliminating a competitor would or could be a pro if wanting the area

Guess what I'm really wanting to know is there anybody on the board that helps newbee's and also help newbee's go out of business.

O..never mind we all have our way in dealing with our competitors, right, and we wouldn't want them to know how to defend themself's,right.

Bad subject huh, nobody wants to be eliminated huh, lol.

outlaw, are you implying that some people on the board are giving out false info,to send some people down the wrong street.
i for one have seen some of the suggestions made to others and tried out of curiosity some of those methods and procedures, and come to find out didnt work as claimed i thought it was just me but maybe not.

also i remember john saying to an individual who was asking for pricing information that his education in this industry will come at a far greater cost than one can imagine.

i can tell you this it is very hard to give away information that costed you to learn the hard way, most everything else shoud be taken for what its worth.

Darn it Gav, for a long time I was the only blunt to your face person and used to get heck for it, was asked to be more tactful, more um, less blunt period.

I have something to say I say it, then I ramble on and on to much like an old hen and for you old timers just don't say it ok!!

As for helping others I do most of it by Email and phone but yes I help others.

I would never give out false information on purpose and when I do not know the answers I suggest they post the question online.

Heck I don't know it all and am the first to admit to it.

Bigboy has helped others countless times, I remember one time he sold one of his rigs to someone, gave him some accounts and even helped him get going only to have the guy default on it and take it back in worst condition then he sold it to the guy in.

He is another that does Email and phone as it is much more personal and one on one, I find it easier to talk that way.

And the friends I make is a bonus.

Who are you to decide?

Do you just do this to the ones that get in your way? Maybe I need to understand better before I really get going. I've had others try to do things like this to me, and I wonder what motivates you to do this.. care to explain this to me?

I'm sure he wouldnt just do it for kicks..........seems like someone pissed him off.

Don't worry about bigboy, he spends too much time out fishin' to notice you.

Who knows......maybe he's changed his ways and hunts competitors now...... [v]

Be the best

In the Atlanta area there are all kind of competetors. The only way we deal with them is to keep being the best at what we do and not woory about them. We won't ever make them go away, so why should we spend energy trying? They'll be around only as long as it takes for customers to relize they get what they pay for. I've fixed more than one competetors jobs. Be the best you can be and you'll be known for it. Customers WILL find you.

Sure I can explain it and if you have had this to happen to you try being more trust worthly and do not ly to the one helping ya,hahahahah.

I've had 3 phone calls today and didn't answer none of them, the answering thingy did tho_One was to wash several BIG BTU storage tanks and the other two was small fleets.Had two phone calls Wednesday I didn't answer,a newbee has been doing the 2 that called wed..The newbee had cut the price 20 dallors a rig to get the accounts and as Sunny 1 said they got what they paid for.

Its to bad the newbee didn't listen when I was telling him he couldn't wash them for that and its to bad the accounts went with the low price from a newbee, now they're without a wash boy.He told him he wouldn't do a better job for the price he was chargeing plus he also told them you get what you pay for.I told him he couldn't say that when pricing jobs b/c the price is the cost for the best job he can do not halfass do.

He thought by lying and cutting the price to get his foot in the doors would be all he needed as to go up in a few months. The lying and cutting price is biten him in the butt now plus the seed is growing each day.......hunting competitors not trust worthly is exciting, will worth the hunt.

Luckyboy the last time I drink any beer I had to crawl to the bathroom and all I could do was lookup at the poty,I only drink 8 miller ponies, think 6 to many *LOL*,Had rather smoke rabbit tobacco or drink manure tea as to lay there looking up at the potie thinking I need to be up there.I may drink one with you but only one,the day I drink the 8 ponies we where standing around a old wood stove, these guys drink every day and can put away several cans of beer, they even warn'd me after my second ponie I may not be man enough to handle the other 6,I showed them but want showem again cuss I know I'm not man enough to handle standing around a old wood stove when its cold outside.

hey bigboy

your not missing anything by not drinking, thats for sure. I quit cold turkey one time. Worst 1/2 hour of my life. lol If you got your head where your ass should be, your hung over or a newbie cutting someone's price by $20 a rig.
I have not yet been asked to stop washing for a customer. knock on wood.
What do they say to you? How do they word it? Is it face to face or a letter? Are you going to raise your last price by $5 and go back?
ps. i cant get pics from the pwna site can you post a funnell pic here?

I used to drink with the boys back years ago,I stopped when I woke up one morning with a mohawk.

I've never lost a account in this business, either give it away or tell them I cann't get to it anymore.

When I was saleing out on the road they always told me face to face,I'd be pissed the rest of the day thinking how I could get a bigger account from the salesman that took it away from me,it would be hounddog time.

Thanks bigboy, dont know what i was thinking on the funnell idea
sure looks like it will do the trick.
got one laying right next to the drums with the top on it and never even thought about it.
Tree, forest thing.
I sure would like to see a pic of that mohawk!
If you got one, post a warning first so i dont fall on the floor holding my belly.
Could have been worse, no drunken tattoo of a nekkid lady with the wrong name under it.
