Finding Businesses who Contract

We are new to the business and are trying to build our client list. Obviously, we want to make money, and are considering branching out of just doing residential clients and trying to get contracts with larger companyies who need the work done. How do we find those businesses who want to contract powerwashers?
Thanks

Alot of leg work will do wonders, usually your larger companys will want contracts.

Larry is right. You need to knock on some doors (cold calling).

I cold called the local utility company 20 years ago this year. We've been working for them ever since :)

Don't get to hung up on having a contract. We did not have one for the first 10 years or so. Then a new contact at the utility company wanted to have one. Never have made up another since then. We've been doing work for major retailers and have never had a contract. This is repeat type business.

Your name is "Affordable", some may think that you work Cheap! Remember you must consider the customer and what he/she expects. It is more important to be very good rather than inexpensive.

I must join with the crowd in saying the most effective way is boots on the ground.
Swallow your pride once in a while and kiss a little booty, what ever it takes. Act interested even when you're not. Company big dogs like to have their egos "stroked" a little bit, know what I mean?

Getting contracts are two sided. You always want a way out. Being Un-affordable helps too. Remember, your invoice is an expense for big companies. The more expenses they have the less profit and in turn less taxes.

So, should we change our name and take out "affordable"?

Thanks for all of your tips, suggestions, and advice.
