KEC Cleaners...how long on a vertical surface do you wish your chems would cling?

Just curious on this ....

Until we wash them off. :D There is a delicate balance between application and wash that has to fit in a very tight window of time for some cleanings. Most jobs allow for a 20-30 minute window at most for dwell time.

Thank Josh...so 20-30 minutes dwell time on vertical surfaces....I would suspect that some serious foam/clinging agents are being used?

I guess the phrase "Fear the Foam" from the GP did have some meaning to it. [rwb]

Sometimes foam will last for hours inside a duct with the fan closed up top and not much air flowing through. But, if the foam is clinging too long, then it is probably too dry therefore not cleaning like it should be because there isn't enough chem (bubbles) on the surface to be cleaned.

A lot of times a good wet foam application goes on, then adjustments are made to the foamer to dry it out and spray that on top to hold it and let it eat away. We call it a "Foam-over" [whatup]

Of course, you do want to have it cling long enough to get in some extra curricular activities while you're waiting for it to do it's job. :D

It either comes from that or an exploding chem line on a homemade foamer. Catch a blast of caustic at about 110 psi to the face and you'll understand more of why we fear the foam.
