Graffiti Removal in Oakland, CA

Did this job last month. This is one of many areas on the building located in Oakland that was tagged. Client just had the building painted. I warned them that they stand to have more tags...they just shrugged and said..."yea we know".

Anyway,

Anybody do graffiti removal as part of their services? It is a great add on.

It takes some doing (graffiti removal) but once you get familiar with how your graffiti removal products works and your comfort level in getting paint off the different surfaces one can make some good $$$ in it.

My biggest problem is stucco surfaces.

Also I have found that if the tag is really old and it difficult to remove verses a tag that was recently done.

Yeah, big part of it is getting use to the product you use. Took me about 2 or 3 tries before I got real comfortable using the products I use. I see more and more people just painting over graffiti than paying someone to remove it though. My graffiti removal business has really gone down the last year or so. They just figure thay can paint over it cheaper I guess.

Ive had little graffiti removal jobs most just paint over or wait for city to come by and handle it..

It's a good add on. Most big cities, such as L.A. have their graffiti removal done usually by the Public Works Dept if it is on City Property. Business owners are stuck most of the time as the city will charge them an arm and a leg to remove it.

'paint overs' are quick, fast and easy. I ask the customer to provide the paint color and brand if possible. If they don't have it I make sure that my contract reads that the color(s) will not match.
