Guns/Wands

I was wondering what you guys are using for a chemical gun. I use a regular pw/gun. I like the fact that I can change tips for fan spray and orifice size.

But I would like something plastic yet durable without having to strain any product because the opening on the tip is to small. Something like a pw/gun that can hold up against acids

Hi Dan,

We use a hose end sprayer for our degreasers and acids. It is made by Gilmour. Has a plastic jug the spray head is brass. It has a sliding bar on the head so we can change the percentage of product that we spray.

Dave,

What are you using for a pump with your method? Or are you just hooking to a garden hose?

When I used a Flow-Jet pump, I used a 22650-PP GunJet spray gun from Spraying Systems Co. The only problem I had was that the seals did not stand up to the hood cleaning chemical, and then the gun would leak all over my hand. I then went to a 1/4 turn ball valve, which did last longer, but would leak after enough exposure to the chemical. I did find that if I used ball valves with a teflon seal around the ball I got good life of the valve. Of course I used quick connectors at the nozzle which also leaked. I finally cured the problem by going to a stainless steel tank and JB Weld on all fittings except at the nozzle. Maybe the chemicals you use are not as caustic as what I use.

Hi Dan,

These hose end sprayers are intended to be used with a garden hose. We use them with our regular pumps (ball valves) or a 1000 psi 2 gpm unit.

Hello Dan,

We are unable to get them retail. Had to become a distributor and order direct from Gilmour. I will have to get back to you on the price, I have been buying subassembly (replacement)parts for them. I think a complete assembly would be around $75. We have 2-3 on each truck. They last a long, long time!
