Hello,
I want to start a pressure washing business but I am not sure were to start. A little about me is that I am active duty NAVY I will be doing this for at least two more years so at first I can pretty much only do weekend work. I have a partner who is willing to help with the cost and the work. I have also worked for a pressure washing company in Bowie Maryland. We were washing exhaust hoods in resturants. I want to do houses. I would like input on what equpment I need to start and what are the chemicals I should consider. Also if there is anyone here who operates in the Hampton Roads VA area I would be willing to give you some free labor in return for some knowlege on technique. Thanks for your help!

I wish someone had set me stright from jump street. If you are going to be doing houses get the lowest pressure highest gpm machine you can find in your budget. Hot water will make nice work of concrete and I swear by it, but I don't know if its mandatory for what you are going to be doing. If you want to at sometime take on restaurant cleaning, definitely get the burner setup. As far as the machine, belt drive, ten gallon tanks, easily rebuildable pumps (General), flow actuated unloader and hour meters are all niceties I would look for.

Add on equipment: X-Jet M5, Coress extension wand, extension poles and car brushes, pump up sprayers (3 gallon and hand held) 32' ladder, 4 ft wand, close wand (I use a dual lance), Turbo nozzle, lots of extra washers, and a few extra nozzles to vary your pressure. Of course research the right chemicals. House washing chems are easy and forgiving. Many guys use diff things. Mods of this board can help you there. Things you can add later..Pitch witch, surface cleaner, Shurflo pump sprayer.

PS a thank you for this info would be not to go out and lowball the full time guys. Get insurance and always work with integrity.
