When I'm washing a house I usually use 3-4
different nozzles, when I need to change tips I have to dig in my front
pocket to try and get the right one out..I'm curious how other guys
handle this problem?--very aggervating.

sunbrite supply sells a nozzle caddy that hangs on your belt. also, i pretty much don't need to switch tips when doing a house because i do the whole thing on low pressure. most of the switching i do is taking the injector hose out of my chems. bleach a house right and you can rinse with a garden hose if you want. i use a dual lance wand. i usually don't need to do much switching of any kind on houses.

I have never tried this one out
but we have them available. :)

Anyone have experience with these?

don't wash houses? that's crazy talk! there's way too much money in it to not do that. grossing $200 an hour doesn't bother me.

I wear a jacket, or vest when it is warm enough and keep my black, green and red nozzle in the left front pocket and the turbo nozzle in the right front pocket. Never really have to fumble, even with gloves on.

$200 an hour...what do you charge per sq. foot?

I find that I make about $100 an hour, charging 10 cents per sq. foot and cleaning about 1000 sq. feet an hour.

It is a different market here. Houses get dusty, but not much else except in certain areas.

Pretty similiar to here...houses get sandy, but it still takes me 4 hours to do a 30 ft. tall 4,000 sq. ft duplex...maybe I'm to slow.

OCPW, my peak is $200 per hour but i can get down to $100. just depends on the job. i charge about 10 cents per interior square foot. 2,000 square foot house = $200.00 That's actually not terribly high in my area, certainly not the lowest though. But as we've all read in the "pricing defined" post, "it pays to get no's." On an ideal house situation where I can just pull up, soap, rinse, and invoice, I can make that kind of money. can't say why i'd be doing a house twice as fast. do you use a low pressure chemical wash method? maybe it's an equipment difference or something. i hate the xjet if that's what you're using. zero degree soap tips are my best friend. with one of those in a dual lance wand i don't have to switch any tips, and with no xjet, I don't have to lug a heavy bucket around. no ladders, just soap and rinse. works really well. that's the fastest way i can think of to do it.

I use the same method for estimating. I need to get a zero degree soap tip. I searched for one, but had no luck. I clean houses that are 10 ft away from other houses on 2 sides. In the rare occasion that I have more room to work I have made closer to the $200 an hour.

I have searched his online store...maybe I'm not looking in the right places. If I don't hear from him on here I'll give him a call. Thanks in advance to anyone who can steer me in the right direction.

wow. i'm not allowed to tell people where to get what they're looking for even though I don't sell it. Wouldn't it be more of a conflict of interest if I were say announcing a sale for my own company?

I wear Cargo shorts that have side pouches. I normally put them in there. I keep a Bleach nozzel and a 45degree white nozzle. They don't bother you but will stain your shorts pretty bad. Also because of the pockets wide opening they are easy to grab.

Equipment Vs Profit

Profit at the end of the job is directly proportional to the equipment used to do it. Generally a machine which uses a higher GPM will out preform the lower one. Each cleaning job will take the same amount of cleaning units to complete and with higer GPM the varable factor will be time.

If you find your weekly schedule is full, before you add another crew make sure your equipment is maxed out. (GPM) If you can afford it look at a diesel powerplant for those little gassers which will kill your frofit over time. Even more true as the price of fuel is getting higher and higher.

Its all about baby steps and learning the art of washing and pricing. Just remenber not to bid low other than favor jobs.
