How many of you are members of the BBB

I was contacted tonight by the Better Business Bureau saying that people had seen my adds and were inquiring about my business I was just wandering how many of you are members they also told me it would be 286.00 to join and then I could use their logos and so forth the question I guess is should I join or not. Sounds good but I don't trust people calling on the telephone wanting money know what I mean.

I know what you mean, I got the same call when we started up years ago. I just never did it, I think I still might join up from time-to-time, but I never saw any real benifit (for me) for the money. Don't get me wrong, I think it's good and all, might be the best thing for someone else, but it's just not for me. Long story short (too late)I'd say no.

Take your wife out to dinner and join the local Chamber of Commerce. This will get you into local trades and it is good networking.

Local Chamber of Commerce but why would you want to join the BBB?

I have always felt that their main purpose was for consumers to file complaints against businesses that have done them wrong.

I would not pay $400 a year to join, it cost me $100 for my chamber membership but if I hire even one employee it jumps to $250.

Were also Members and there are several other P.W listed as Members here,and were in the care program as some of the others are too,which means we stand behind our work and if a customer is not happy for any reason,the BBB acts as a Arbertrator on disputes,and we agree to fair settlementif were wrong,it goes to show your company really cares about its customers and is on the up-and up and also some companys wont use you unless your a member because they are Members, anyway we think its a good idea, at least talk to them, were also thinking about joining the Chamber of commerce. PS. No we have never had a Complaint.

I'm sure the BBB would be OK. Having the emblem or logo and all, but the Chamber of Commerce has really served us well.
We joined both area Chamber of Commerce in our twin city area. It acts sort of like a brotherhood.
We received a mailing list of all the other businesses in your their city and sent out some flyers to all the businesses. I also send my cute little manager to what they call the mixer. Thats where the business owners send a repretentative from their office to trade ideas and business cards. I think we have got work every time she goes to them. We are now in process of working with our area Dr. Pepper Company, we started doing work for Extraco Banks and may be in line for First State Banks from leads obtained through these mixers. There is a lot of high profile people to meet there and it seems to be worth it to join.

I'm kinda like some of the rest. I'm not real sure the BBB is worth the extra cash. We never seem to be asked if we are members of the BBB from our customers yet.
Now... I wouldn't mind having the Good HouseKeeping Seal on the side of my truck though, that is if anyone knows how we could get that done.
