I Have Power!

I have been without power since 12/04/02 due to the worst ice storms this area has seen in quite awhile. Never relize how convienant it makes life til its gone. Will be investing in much larger generator real soon!!!

Hope everyone else affected fared o.k.

Had a few friends with trees through their roofs.

There is not a pine tree within 200 yards of my place, thank god, because they did all the damage. Those and anything that still had leaves on it.

Hey Chuck
Glad to hear that your power is back on. I remember a couple or three years back when I ws working in good ol' NC parts of Raliegh/Durahm were without power for a couple of weeks if I remember right. I used to work over in your area a lot. I put up alot of Glu-Lam in your area. The company I worked for actually decided to move to Fuquay/Varina but I go cold and had to come back to Texas.

Infact I think it was that same year yall got like 15 in. of snow in some pars right?? Like 99 or 01 ??

yea, funny thing is i had just moved from nc to Amarillo,TX so i missed that big event. But i moved back jst a few months after it had happened. I just missed NC to much.

Chuck, back in '93 we had a awesome blizzard we got something like 3' snow and lost our power for 2 weeks. We stayed @ my sisters house , And only came home on the weekend to sled ride and "stoke " the fire .
Well for 3 days we had a blazing fire in the coal furnace and on the last day ( Sunday ) I banked the fire off with only one shovel of coal . That was @ 3.pm I banked it off b/c I had work all week and didnt want to worry about the fire...... Well @ 10.30 that night my friend called and said our house was on fire..

We lost everything and it was 2 weeks before Christmas .. What a bummer .. I learned alot about friendship and insurance .. Thank God we had cost replacement .. And as far as friends ...........Man they came from everywhere . We didnt have to worry about buying any gifts for our kids .They were all taken care of .

I now have 4 generators one wired right into the house when the power goes out it goes on .. and 3 other ones for back-ups and lending them out .. As a matter of fact this reminds me to make a phone call and see if my "buddie" is done with one of them .....

So I know first hand about the power outage.. I feel for ya and Big-boy .. it's no fun .....

you dont relize how good ya got something untill you lose it .
