Hello everyone.My name is Paul and i live in Long Island New York.My profession is pressman(printer) and i have been married almost two years.I have for the past two years pondered the idea of starting to do residential power washing.Now with me finding this web site i feel i willbe able to have my questions answered by professionals.I always felt i was lacking enough knowledge to start my bussiness not anymore. I have skimmed past old threads and i feel i have found an excellent site nice job to all of you.
1st ? =What would be the best psi and gpm be for the residential area of power washing.

Anything less then 3000 @ 4GPMs and you'll be pulling your hair out...........the higher the GPM's the faster you can wash, generally.

Like was said above, 5GPMs would be great if you could afford it.

Belt driven rather then direct.


Good luck to you. Keep reading posts here and do lots of searches.......you will find more info then you could imagine.

I think what was given aboive was excellent advice. I would also say get a hot water PW. If you only have a cold you limit yourself.

cannot afford a hot water machine, don't sweat it!

I very rarely use hot water on houses........mostly for concrete patios.........

It is nice to have the hot water (if you can afford it) for the future, if you decide to branch out into commercial or industrial work.......

I would say try and get a 5gpm or larger machine, and like Mike said the Hotwater isn't that big of a deal. I rarely use mine.
