That we bring in a tree into our house ...make a mess ..........string up lights all over ...........some people think they are the Grisswalts........... overspend themselfs...... go further in debt with credit cards............. get drunk............ get depressed...........fight...........when somefolks even write out the word CHRISTMAS they even take out the name of the reason it's all about x-mas.....................If you truly believe in the man above you will not be a part of the way CHRISTMAS is at ..........by this i mean geting drunk...getting further in debt.......it's not worth it......The true meaning of Christmas is not about me or you it's about our saviour JESUS CHRIST!!!!!!!!!!

I agree

I could not have said it better. People seem to forget the true meaning all the time. People need to remeber JESUS is the reason for the season!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Guys,
I'm really surprised to hear you say this. I didn't think anyone had the guts to voice this in public, let alone admit they believe this way.
I'm really glad to hear that other folks see the sin in all of this too.
It kind of reminds me of Jeremiah the 10th chapter about the heathens.
First off, I don't think I have ever read in the Bible the date of JESUS's Birth date. Wonder if there was a reason for that.

When are people going to make up their minds. Christmas is either about JESUS or santa claus. Which one is it? It is said in history that the myth of santa claus started out with a lie anyway. I can't remember what was said, but that's what a preacher once told me. I could probably find it, but I've never found the need to. I never believed in santa claus nor have I ever lied about it to my child. I refuse to give santa claus credit for my hard earned money. If he wants to buy my child a gift, he can feel free, but I be dang if I will spend my hard earned money own a foolish expensive gift and turn right around and give santa claus credit for it. He can be stupid all on his own. I ain't ever seen him spend a dime on anybody. He's always trying to borrow everybody elses hard earned money and taking credit for the gift. To top it off, he never pays anybody back, let alone ever helps pay off our credit cards debts. :)
Oh I get it now....I understand why they use santa claus. People are so miserably ashamed they spent so much money on a gift, they blame it on santa. Hey! it makes since to me.

On the serious side, there is a reason why GOD and JESUS never indicated we should celebrate Christmas. Because of what you just mentioned in the beginning thread.
The word teaches us to take care of our fellow man all of the time, not just one specific time of the year.

Great Post Dan S

I will find out the real date of Jesus birth soon unless someone here post it first.... it's not dec. 25th. thats just some date tossed our way..........

The reason I told my kids from the begining that there was no tooth angel.,............ no easter bunny ...........and NO Santa . (well really there was a santa but he did'nt have no elves or flying deer.......)

When they get old enough to really find the real answer and they see that there is no santa . then they MAY think that I was lying about A real JESUS...... And then what ? tell 'em it's okay to lie.. but believe me there is a JESUS.... naaaaaaaa.... i told 'em early enough ......... AND ya know what they still had a great CHRISTmas........

I agree Richard why give Santa the credit when we are the ones who spend the cash and do all the wrapping......

MERRY CHRISTMAS......................

Dan,
Merry JESUS Day to you too.

As for the birth date, you won't find it. It doesn't exist. Sorry.
No one in our life time knows, nor is it ever been found recorded in any record.
The only thing there is, is an assumption based on the weather and surroundings.

Take Care

Ive got to say reading your post above made me glad to see people voiceing their Christian beliefs but believe me Santa Claus has his place in our lives. Here is a story I got emailed to me and thought I would share. Without Santa Clause the gift of giving would probably never enter anyones mind however Santa Clause brings out the giving in people. :)

There is no Santa Claus

I remember my first Christmas party with Grandma. I was just a kid. I remember tearing across town on my bike to visit her on the day my big sister dropped the bomb: "There is no Santa Claus," she jeered. "Even Dummies know that!"
My grandma was not the gushy kind, never had been. I fled to her that day because I knew she would be straight with me. I knew Grandma always told the truth, and I knew that the truth always went down a whole lot easier when swallowed with one of her world famous cinnamon buns.
Grandma was home and the buns were still warm. Between bites, I told her everything. She was ready for me.
"No Santa Claus!" she snorted. "Ridiculous! Dont believe it. That rumor has been around for years, and it makes me madm, plain mad. Now put on your coat, and lets go."
Go? Go where, Grandma? I asked. I hadnt even finished my second cinnamon bun.
"Where" turned out to be Kerbys General Store, the one store in town that had a little bit of just about everything. As we walked through its door, Grandma handed me ten dollars. That was a bundle in those days. "Take this money and buy something for someone who needs it. I'll wait for you in the car." Then she turned and walked out of Kerbys.
I was only eight years old. Id often gone shopping with my mother, but never had I shopped for anything all by meself. The store seemed big and crowded, full of people scrambling to finish their Christmas shopping.
For a few moments I just stood there, confused, clutching that ten dollar bill, wondering what to buy, and who on earth to buy it for. I thought of everybody I knew, my family, my friends, my nighbors, the kids at school, the people who went to my church. I was just about thought out, when I suddenly thought of Bobbie Decker. He was a kid with bad breath and messy hair, and he sat right behind me in Mrs. Pollocks grade two class.
Bobbie Decker didnt have a coat. I knew that because he never went out for recess during the winter. His mother always wrote a note, telling the teacher that he had a cough, but all we kids knew that Bobbie Decker didnt have a cough, and he didnt have a coat. I fingered the ten dollar bill with growing excitement. I would buy Bobbie Decker a coat. I settled on a red corduroy one that had a hood to it. It looked real warm, and he would like that.
Is this a Christmas present for someone? the lady behind the counter asked kindly, as I laid my ten dollars down.
Yes, I replied shyly. Its for Bobbie. The nice lady smiled at me. I didnt get any change, but she put the coat in a bag and wished my a Merry Christmas.
That evening Grandma helped me wrap the coat in Christmas paper and ribbons, and write "TO Bobbie, From Santa Claus" on it Grandma said that Santa always insisted on secrecy. Then she drove me over to Bobbie Deckes house explaining as we went that I was now and forever officially one of Santas helpers.
Grandma parked down the street from Bobbies house and she and I crept noiselessly and hid in the bushes by his front walk. Then Grandma gave me a nudge. "All right, Santa Claus," she whispered, get going.
I took a deep breath, dashed for his front door, threw the present down on his step, pounded his doorbell and flew back to the safety of the bushes and Grandma. Together we waited breathlessly in the darkness for the front door to open. Finally it did, and there stood Bobbie.
Forty years havent dimmed the thrill of those moments spent shivering, beside my grandma, in Bobbie Deckers bushes. That night I relized that those awful rumors about Sant Claus were just what Grandma said they were ridiculous. Santa was alive and well, and we were on his team.

Maybe if you guys did something like the story above you would not be so fast to put Santa down alot of good things come from Christmas so what if Sant gets the pat on the shoulder just as long as it gets done you know. Christians know that it all comes from God and Jesus so what is the big deal of who gets credit for it do you really think that God cares who gets credit for it as long as it came from the heart. :)

Merry Christmas from my family to yours. Morgan Paradise from Paradise Pro Wash.
