large warehouse question

I have a construction guy who wants me to clean the concrete in this warehouse he is building. It's 70,000 square feet. Problem is it has no drains and it lays level so that the water will not pool well enough to use a boom vaccuum system. I have looked at buying a Steel Eagle flat surface/vaccuum system and I was wondering if any of you had ever used one of these and if it works. Or if you have some other idea that is better than a squeegee.

We recently did the floor of a newly constructed warehouse, same situation, although not nearly as large. We rented a floor scrubber, one of those that recirculates the water and then squeegees and vacuums it all in one pass. One guy used the surface cleaner and the other guy went behind him and vacuumed it. Worked great. Did about 22,000 square feet in 6 hours. Charged $495 plus the rental of the floor scrubber.

We have one of the older Fury 2400 systems by Steel Eagle. It works great for that type of job. The new improved units are supposed to be even better. They are kind of pricey though. I would try to rent one or just be sure you will have enough repeat work like this to justify the expense.

The production rate with the Fury is somewhat less than using a regular surface cleaner, so it's not the best thing to use for normal flatwork. If it's built by Steel Eagle, it will live up to the claims.

See ya,

Rick
